The presetter is also equipped with the Kelch Contour software module to automatically check tool profiles and contours for straight or helical grooved form tools. The bearings manufactured by Daido rely on form tools to finish specific profiles. In the past they have relied on their tooling supplier to deliver the correct form. With no means to check, there has been some problems where the form is incorrect. All form tools are now checked on the presetter and a report is produced to quality assure the tools and give traceability. This prevents costly errors at the final stage of machining. The Contour module is quick and simple to use and gives the capability of ensuring the profile is correct and is invaluable to businesses such as mould and die.
