BT - Steep Taper Tooling
Our BT range of precision tool holders are produced according to the JIS B 6339 / MAS BT (ISO 7388-2 Form J) standard which excludes the identification chip bore.
Technical Details:
Form J: without coolant supply.
Form JD: central coolant supply.
Form JD/JF: central and lateral coolcant supply through the tool flange.
Coolant holes for form JF are delivered closed with a set screw, which can be removed if needed.
Hardened using a special, low-distortion hardening process.
Vickers hardness 670 +/- 40 DV 30 (HRC58 +/- 2).
Hardening depth Eht = min. 0.5mm.
Taper angle tolerance quality AT3 according to DIN 2080-1.
These are manufactured from alloy steel and case-hardened with a core tensile strength of 980 N/mm2
